What is the process to adopt a pet from Homeward Bound City Pound?

Contact our adoption coordinator or visit us during adoption hours to find our more about the animals listed above. Once you’ve met the animal you’re interested in, please fill out an adoption application and we can start the process.

A meeting with staff is required to determine if the selected pet is a suitable match for your household and lifestyle. All members of the household must meet the pet (including canine members) before an animal can be put on hold or approved for adoption.

Once we’ve worked together to find a good match and the animal is cleared by the vet, the adoption arrangements can be set. Note: some veterinary procedures will not apply to rodents, birds or animals with pre-existing medical conditions. Please understand that the medical and adoption processes may take several days.

What are the adoption fees, and what do they include?
