Are you interested in becoming a volunteer at Homeward Bound City Pound?

The dogs appreciate the social interaction and break from their kennels, and the kitties love the play time and cuddles. Not to mention, you’ll appreciate the companionship and the great feeling that comes with helping animals in need!

You must be 18+ to volunteer at HBCP. Minors may accompany registered volunteers and remain under constant supervision.

Interested applicants can visit us at 201 Brownlow Ave, Unit 9 in Burnside between the hours of 12pm-4pm, seven days a week. Upon your first visit, you will be asked to fill out a volunteer form and sign a waiver.

You will be signed up as a Level 1 volunteer. Level 1 volunteers may sit in with cats and critters, as well as walk our smaller, gentler pups.

Please note we do not often have Level 1 canines. If you are interested in working primarily with dogs, you should attend a Volunteer Workshop and upgrade to a Level 2 handler.

Level 2 volunteers will have access to the bulk of our dogs and be expected to handle them as reviewed in the Volunteer Workshop.

Homeward Bound City Pound reserves the right to decline your Level 2 application, or require that you attend the workshop again.

Tuesday, Dec 4th 6:30-7:30pm at Homeward Bound City Pound. No RSVP necessary. See you then!
