Are you interested in becoming a volunteer at Homeward Bound City Pound? We are always looking to add dog walkers and cat cuddlers to our team!
The dogs appreciate the social interaction and break from their kennels, and the kitties love the play time and cuddles. Not to mention, you’ll appreciate the companionship and the great feeling that comes with helping animals in need! Learn about all the benefits that come with volunteering at an animal shelter below:
Our newly remodelled volunteer program is up and running!
Interested applicants must attend and complete an onsite volunteer workshop with staff and dog-trainer, Christine Graham. Scheduled dates and times may vary and are highly dependent on interest.
Following the end of the workshop, applicants fill out and sign a volunteer agreement, which are reviewed and approved by staff. HBCP staff will be in touch to notify you on when you can start volunteering or with any concerns. If by chance you have been denied, you will be required to take the workshop again.
After approval, volunteers are welcome to walk dogs or visit the cats any time during volunteer hours:
Monday – Friday: 12pm-2pm
Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 10am-2pm
Please note: You must be 18+, have completed one (1) volunteer workshop and be approved by staff before volunteering at HBCP.
Our Next Volunteer Workshop:
TBD – please check back soon when we announce our next series of workshops!
